Thriving in the New DMC Managed Care Environment: CIBHS partners with LA County Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) in a multi-year capacity building project.
The DMC ODS Waiver required a historic transformation of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) field’s approaches to financing and general business practices, regulatory oversight, clinical practice, and provider relations. LA County SAPC reached out to CIBHS for support around these changes to thrive in this new managed care environment.
CIBHS provided capacity building training to guide participants through the transformation process. This included revamping their current business practices, improving whole person-centered care, designing new services such as recovery care and case management, and collaborating across systems of care to improve long-term recovery, physical health, and engagement in rewarding social supports.
LA county SUD providers successfully applied change management tools to create efficient patient-centered workflows and used best-practice clinical knowledge to guide care planning and performance improvement efforts that resulted in improved recovery and wellness for people receiving services and financial success for the organization.
